You said award-winning – which award is that?

In 2023, I was delighted to win ‘Blogger of the Year’ at the prestigious TravMedia awards – the UK’s leading portal for the travel media industry. It was a very proud moment but I also have my wonderful audience to thank for their continued support!

When did you start your blog?

I started blogging way back in 2015 as a way of sharing my experience of travelling in Tanzania when I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro.

While it was a hobby for several years, Pocket Wanderings was soon born and the luxury travel brand you see today evolved. Content creation is now part of my day-to-day life – and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Do you create content full time?

Yes, I feel very lucky to be able to do what I love full-time. As well as creating content for both my blog and social media, I also offer digital marketing consultancy and content creation services to luxury travel and lifestyle brands.

Photography and videography are two big passions of mine and I adore working with brands to capture beautiful content for them.

What camera do you use?

I tend to use my Sony A7 with a couple of different lenses for all photos. While I use my iPhone 15 Pro for most video content, along with my DJI Mini 3 drone and my GoPro for those action shots!

What has been your favourite travel destination to date?

I get asked this question a lot and I always struggle to answer it because I’ve been lucky enough to visit so many incredible places.

But if I had to choose, I’d say my favourite trip was a fairly recent one to Livingstone in Zambia. It definitely spoke to the adrenaline-junkie in me, with lots of unforgettable activities and adventures.

Do you use affiliate links on your blog?

Yes, there affiliate links on my site – this means that if you click on a product or service I’ve featured on my blog and you purchase it, I get a tiny bit of commission. This includes Amazon; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

It doesn’t cost you any extra to purchase through an affiliate link, it just means I get a kickback from the retailer. It’s essentially a ‘thank you’ for marketing and advertising their products. I will only ever share products and services that I think my readers will love.
