Simba Hybrid Mattress Review

Simba Mattress Review: My Honest Thoughts on the Original Hybrid Mattress

When it comes to upgrading your bedroom, few things make as big a difference as a great mattress.

Sleep quality changes everything – from your energy levels to your mood – so when I had the opportunity to try Simba’s Original Hybrid Mattress, I jumped at the chance.

After a week of sleeping on it, I’m ready to share my thoughts. Spoiler: I’m seriously impressed.

First impressions: a mattress in a box

I’ll admit I was a little sceptical at first about the idea of a super king mattress arriving in a box. How could something that big possibly fit? But when the delivery arrived, I was genuinely amazed.

Empty Bed with Simba Mattress in a box

The mattress came vacuum-packed and tightly rolled in a surprisingly compact box.

This was a total game-changer for us because there’s no way we could have manoeuvred a full-sized super king mattress up our staircase.

Unboxing it was actually quite fun: you simply cut open the packaging, unroll it onto the bed frame, and then watch it expand before your eyes.

Within a few hours it had taken shape, but Simba recommends giving it 24 hours to fully rise.

Comfort and support

So what’s it actually like to sleep on? In short: really comfy. I’ve always found the balance between softness and support tricky with mattresses – some are too firm, others feel like you’re sinking into a marshmallow.

The Simba Hybrid manages to nail that sweet spot in the middle. I’m a side sleeper while my partner is a back sleeper, and we both find it comfy and supportive in all the right places.

The top comfort layer has just enough “give” to let you sink in slightly, but underneath there’s a supportive base that keeps everything aligned. I’ve definitely noticed less tossing and turning, and I wake up without the sore shoulders I sometimes got with our old mattress.

If you share a bed, another huge plus is the motion isolation. I don’t get woken up if my partner rolls over or gets out of bed in the night, which is honestly a luxury in itself.

What makes Simba different?

Simba is known for their “mattress in a box” design, but what sets the Original Hybrid apart is the combination of foam and springs. You get the pressure relief of foam with the breathability and bounce of springs.

This makes it feel more supportive than a memory foam mattress but still much more comfortable than the old-fashioned all-spring styles.

I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t trap heat the way some foam mattresses do. While I’m a fairly cold person, my partner tends to run warm at night, but he’s been very happy with the way the Simba stays nice and cool.

Practical details

  • Delivery was fast and straightforward, with handy updates on when to expect it.
  • Set-up was simple: just unbox, unroll, and let it expand.
  • Sleep trial: Simba offers a 200-night trial, which means you really do get to test it properly in your own home before committing.
  • Warranty: There’s also a 10-year guarantee, which gives me confidence it’ll last.

Would I recommend it?

Absolutely. If you’re looking to upgrade your sleep set-up, I think the Simba Original Hybrid is worth the investment.

It’s supportive, comfortable, and practical – especially for anyone worried about actually getting a big mattress upstairs.

We went for the super king size which feels wonderfully spacious, but the range goes right down to single mattresses too. In fact, if you’re short on storage, pairing a Simba single mattress with a single ottoman bed would be a brilliant space-saving solution.

Final thoughts

Sleep is one of those things we don’t appreciate until we’re not getting enough of it. Since switching to the Simba Hybrid, I’ve been waking up feeling more refreshed, less achy, and ready to face the day.

So if you’ve been curious about trying a Simba mattress, I’d say go for it – you might just find yourself looking forward to bedtime a little more than usual.
