The Cotswolds is one of my favourite regions of the UK, known for its rolling hills, stone cottages, and classic English rural charm.

It’s also home to some of the best farm shops in the UK, offering a variety of locally sourced produce, artisanal goods, and delectable homemade treats and breakfast items that’ll make you come back for more.

Here is my hand-picked selection of the top farm shops in the Cotswolds that are well worth a visit.

1. Vegetable Matters Farm Shop and Café in Chipping Campden

Vegetable Matters is a farm shop café that sells homemade cakes, croissants, scones, and other baked goods as well as fresh, farm-picked local produce.

All menu items are reasonably priced with dozens of options to choose from. You can even “choose your own items” if you’re looking for something specific or have dietary restrictions.

2. Burton Farm Shop in Chippenham

Burton Farm Shop has been around since 2021 but it has already earned quite a reputation in the Chippenham area.

Their products and homemade goods are some of the freshest and most delicious you’ll ever have and with excellent prices to boot.

It can get a little crowded in the afternoons so I recommend visiting a bit early if you’re planning to stay for lunch.

3. Daylesford Organic in Moreton-in-Marsh

Daylesford Organic Farm

Daylesford Organic is one of the most well-known farm shops in the Cotswolds, and for good reason!

It’s not only gorgeous from the outside but also from the inside, plus the food is to die for.

Daylesford Organic serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, and caters to vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free customers.

Did I mention it’s Michelin Green-star certified? That’s right – all their offerings are sustainable and eco-friendly.

Daylesford grows its own fruits and veggies, makes its own bread and cheeses, and even raises its own native breeds.

Jolly Nice Farmshop in Stroud

The Jolly Nice Farm Shop in Stroud is the place I go to whenever I’m craving a hearty, juicy burger.

Their KFP Burger, made with buttermilk fried pheasant breast, and their signature Jolly Nice Burger with smoked beef and bacon, are some of the best I’ve ever had.

Other than burgers, the shop sells a number of farm fresh goods, fruits, and vegetables.

Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality of the products is exceptional. You get what you pay for and more.

11. Diddly Squat Farm Shop in Chipping Norton

The Diddly Squat Farm Shop has quickly become one of the most famous farm shops in the Cotswolds, thanks in part to its association with TV show host Jeremy Clarkson.

The shop attracts visitors from far and wide, resulting in long queues that can stretch up to an hour and a half regardless of the time of day.

The shop itself is relatively small but packed with a well-curated selection of local produce.

After shopping, a visit to the Big View Café is a must. The café is part of the shop and offers visitors a place to enjoy meals with ingredients produced by the farm. .
