Hotel San Regis Bedroom

I love that the rooms are fresh in style and combine classic features, such as wood panelled walls and floral fabrics with plenty of bright white offset by soothing pastel shades.

With only 42 rooms and suites, I’d recommend this family-run hotel for a pleasing and more intimate atmosphere, unlike some of the city’s larger and more famous establishments.

13. Nolinski Paris

Address: 16 Av. de l’Opéra, 75001 Paris

Best for: Parisian elegance

Nolinski Hotel Paris

For a thoroughly modern take on Parisian elegance, I’d recommend booking into the Nolinski, a five star property on the Avenue de l’Opéra.

The modern decor encompasses many deluxe touches, such as jewel-hued velvet and opulent emerald-toned marble.

Nolinski Spa

Accommodation is spread over six floors. Each room or suite features its own colour scheme with lacquered finishes and neoclassical lines.

Accommodation involves city or garden views from the floor-to-ceiling windows, and features a smart monochrome palette softened by rich browns and hints of gold.

There are three restaurants at the hotel, including a Michelin-starred eatery. After dinner, I’d suggest settling into the sophisticated cocktail bar to sip one of the creative concoctions offered.

Roch Hotel Paris

In the splendid surroundings of the first arrondissement, Le Roch is a design-led property with a contemporary edge, which I think makes a refreshing change from the other Paris hotels I’ve included here.

While the hotel is undeniably chic and luxurious, there is no over-the-top extravagance about its understated looks.

Roch Hotel Pool

Rooms range from Cosy and Comfy to Prestige Rooms and Indulgence Suites, and are characterised by cool marble, velvet drapes and thick, colourful rugs.

I love that this property feels unique throughout, from its site where a 13th century abbey once stood to its boutique-style range of rooms.

Relais Christine Suite

Beneath the ancient vaults, the subterranean, stone-walled Guerlain Spa offers a refreshingly different setting in which to be preened and pampered. I’m sure you’ll struggle to peel yourself away from the spa!

While upstairs, Relais Christine’s 48 rooms and suites feature rich, warm woods, marble bathrooms, stylish wallpapers and sumptuous textures.

20. Le Pavillon de la Reine

Address: 28 Pl. des Vosges, 75003 Paris

Best for: Heritage and luxury

Le Pavillon de la Reine Paris

A 17th century structure on Place des Vosges in the Marais district is home to Le Pavillon de la Reine, one of the finest luxury hotels in Paris in my opinion.

This city square is widely regarded as one of the most elegant in the world. While the Marais is seen as one of French capital’s most enticing neighbourhoods.

Le Pavillon de la Reine

With only 56 rooms and suites, this property is rich in heritage and decorated with original oil paintings and antique furniture that contrast beautifully with more contemporary influences.

The hotel has a spa, restaurant and bar, and also a delightful courtyard garden where guests can relax outdoors during the warmer seasons.
