1. Le Negresco

Address: 37 Prom. des Anglais, 06000 Nice, France

Best for: Art lovers

If you’re looking for an iconic luxury hotel in Nice, Le Negresco should be at the top of your list.

This historic hotel has been a landmark on the Promenade des Anglais since 1913, and it has hosted countless celebrities and dignitaries over the years – and it’s easy to see why.

Le Negresco Hotel in Nice

As soon as I stepped into the lobby, I was struck by the opulent decor. The hotel’s owner, Jeanne Augier, was a passionate art collector, and she filled the hotel with an eclectic mix of antiques, paintings, and sculptures.

You’ll see everything from Louis XIV-style furniture to contemporary art pieces – and the overall effect is elegantly whimsical.

I love that the rooms at Le Negresco are just as impressive as the public spaces. Each one is unique, with its own colour scheme, furnishings, and artwork.

Le Negresco Suite Bed

Some rooms have balconies with magnificent sea views, while others overlook the city or the hotel’s charming inner courtyard.

A great touch is that all rooms come with luxurious amenities such as plush bedding, marble bathrooms, and high-end toiletries.

When it comes to dining, Le Negresco has several options to choose from. So, if you’re an avid foodie like myself, you’ll feel right at home at this establishment.

The hotel’s flagship restaurant, Chantecler, has one Michelin star and serves gourmet French cuisine with a modern twist.

If you’re in the mood for something more casual, I had a wonderful meal at the Rotonde Brasserie, which offers classic French dishes in a relaxed atmosphere.

Whereas if you just want to enjoy a drink and some live music, the Negresco Bar is the place to be.
