20 beautiful luxury hotels in Mykonos

Destino Pacha Hotel in Mykonos

Believe me when I say that there are some truly outstanding luxury hotels in Mykonos to choose from. This is great news for those heading to this legendary island in the Cyclades.

Mykonos is a highly popular tourist destination, so it’s no surprise that the island is home to some incredible hotels. I personally love exploring both sides of the island – all the off-the-beaten-track gems, as well as the party side.

Whether you’re out exploring or lazing by the beach, a luxurious base is ideal for getting a relaxing sleep at the end of the day – especially important if you’re making the most of the island’s nightlife!

I love that refined island living is the name of the game at the four and five star properties I’ve selected for my guide, each of which features more than mere nods to its incomparable location.

Gastronomic experiences, pampering and restorative treatments, pure luxury and partying can all be yours in this Greek island paradise – whichever one of the best luxury hotels in Mykonos you book into.

Let’s delve into my favourite hotels on this epic island, plus some wonderful recommendations from fellow wanderlusters.

1. Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort

Address: Agios Ioannis, Mikonos 846 00

Best for: Stunning Aegean ocean views

Mykonos Grand Hotel

First up, I’d highly recommend Mykonos Grand Hotel and Resort. It’s a deluxe five star property that’s located right by the soft sands of Agios Ioannis beach

The hotel occupies a spacious five acre site, and offers 96 boutique-style rooms and suites.

Accommodation is decorated to reflect the Greek islands, with bright, white walls offset by splashes of bright sky blue which I think creates the perfect relaxing atmosphere.

Bolla Bar Sunset

The light-filled, shared spaces continue this theme while offering views over the Aegean ocean. Mykonos Grand Hotel and Resort offers a range of stylish restaurants and bars.

There’s also the sumptuous Althea Spa Retreat named for the Greek Goddess of Healing, plus a stunning seaview pool, a gym and a tennis court.

2. Waves, Korfos Beach

Address: Korfos, Mikonos 846 00

Best for: Kite-surfing enthusiasts

Mykonos Waves Hotel

Korfos is a Mykonos hot-spot when it comes to kite surfing, and Waves is situated right over the road from this perfect crescent-shaped bay.

This intimate four star resort is typically Cycladic in style, and I love that it’s under a five minute walk from the beach.

Superior rooms, junior suites and suites offer ocean views. While the top-of-the-pile Beach House sleeps up to six and comes with its own outdoor jacuzzi.

Mykonos Waves Luxury Hotel in Mykonos

All air-conditioned accommodation comes with kitchen facilities, Nespresso machine, satellite TV and luxury designer linens.

I’d say Waves is the pick of the luxury hotels in Mykonos for those who want to master kite surfing.

If you’d rather leave the watersports to the professionals, as well as lessons, the property offers an infinity pool with sun loungers.

3. Lyo

Address: Super Paradise beach, Mikonos 846 00

Best for: Proximity to the Super Paradise beach

Lyo Mykonos Hotel

Sun-drenched Super Paradise beach is where you’ll find Lyo, a luxurious four star property offering unparalleled Aegean panoramas.

The golden sands are just three minutes on foot from the front door, which I think really sets this hotel apart.

This squeaky-clean boutique hotel offers just 27 rooms, and I love that it has a far more personal feel than other top luxury hotels in Mykonos.

There’s no mistaking the location, either: the decor throughout features styles and colours that are characteristically Cycladic.

The selection of accommodation at Lyo ranges from spacious doubles to pool, sea view or honeymoon suites that are perfect for a special occasion, pure luxury or that once-in-a-lifetime stay.

All-day dining is offered at the poolside eatery. Plus, the lounge is a lovely spot in which to unwind with a cool drink.

4. Destino Pacha Mykonos

Address: Agios Stefanos, Mikonos 846 00

Best for: Impeccable style

Destino Pacha Hotel in Mykonos

The success of the original Pacha in Ibiza has spawned a seriously stylish sibling in the form of Destino Pacha Mykonos.

A dramatic cliff-top location provides the idyllic setting for five star luxury here. I know you’re going to love this one.

Photogenic Agios Stefanos beach is mere steps away, and this adults-only property offers a decadent spa and guest gym.

Destino Pacha Mykonos

The Mediterranean-style fare served in the restaurant is inspired by the Balearic location of the first Pacha.

There’s a good mix of rooms and suites, some of which offer breathtaking views over Agios Stefanos beach and the Aegean – I’d definitely recommend splashing out on these rooms if you can.

All are slickly styled, bright and spacious, and come complete with private outdoor spaces.

5. Myconian Naia

Address: Mykonos Town, Mikonos 846 00

Best for: An intimate, secluded haven

Myconian Naia Pool

Without doubt among the best hotels in Mykonos Town in my opinion, Myconian Naia offers boutique accommodation and is perched in a prime position to offer guests superlative views over the Aegean.

This luxury property is small in size, offering just 18 incredible suites. It punches above its weight in terms of amenities, though, with a fine dining restaurant and a bar right by the glorious infinity pool.

Myconian Naia Mykonos

For those seeking extra space and seclusion, some suites come with their own pool. All accommodation combines the rustic and the elegant to magnificent effect.

Guests can also enjoy a gastronomic experience each evening at Myconian Naia’s inventive, creative eatery.

The latter is a favourite among kite surfers, while the former is heaven-sent for sunbathers and swimmers.

OSOM Luxury Hotel Mykonos

I think another unique selling point of a stay at OSOM is the fact that Mykonos Town is only a couple of miles away. This makes nights out in the island’s vibrant nightspots a dream come true.

There are just 20 suites at OSOM resort, giving the property an exclusive and personal ambience. These sleep between two and four guests and include family accommodation with garden or ocean views.

Myconian Utopia Hotel

It’s about more than just looks too. I love that Myconian Utopia is committed to sustainable living – so if this is something close to your heart, then I think this could be the perfect property for you.

The materials used throughout reflect this perfectly. Stone from local quarries was used during construction.

Neutral tones, warm woods and lots of light characterise this contender as the best hotel in Mykonos.

A Myconian family also oversees the restaurant, meaning guests can expect to sample authentic Greek cuisine during their holiday.

Address: Mykonos Town, Mikonos 846 00

Boheme Hotel in Mykonos

If living the barefoot, boho lifestyle while on holiday appeals, I recommend booking into Bohème.

It’s centrally located in Mykonos Town, and I think this typically Cycladic property is perfect for those who love laid-back luxury.

The decor here is thoroughly modern, with lots of monochrome and the occasional industrial feature.

It’s an all-suite property, with plush shared lounging areas, Bilo restaurant, a bar staffed by expert mixologists and a lovely outdoor pool.

Kivotos Luxury Hotel in Mykonos

Kivotos Mykonos is one of the best-loved hotels on the island, and I can see why. Guests flock here every summer for sea views, private beach access and a location within easy reach of Mykonos Town.

I love that the property has been styled to resemble a luxurious Greek family home, with original artworks scattered throughout and a contemporary take on local style.

20. Myconian Avaton

Address: Elia Beach, Mikonos 846 00

Myconian Avaton Pool

The genius of Myconian Avaton’s design lies in the fact that the resort seems synonymous with the rock faces of Elia Beach.

In fact it is built into the stone, and this lofty perch affords guests spectacular views over both land and ocean.

Myconian Avaton Mykonos

Myconian Avaton offers more than just access to the longest stretch of sandy beach on the island.
