Saint Hubertus Pool Cervinia

Whether you want to head to this Alpine area in winter for skiing (which is where you’ll find me!) or for mountain biking or hiking in summer, the Cervinia area in the Aosta Valley is perfect for outdoor sports.

I love that there’s also a great range of accommodation to be found, from three, four or five star Cervinia hotels to self-catering apartments, chalets and suites.

If the idea of spending time in the part of Italy close to the Swiss border appeals, I don’t blame you!

In my guide to the best hotels in Cervinia, I share my favourite hotels in the region, plus three of the finest self-catering accommodation options.

The hotels I’ve included have been chosen based on my own personal experience, plus recommendations from fellow travellers.

12 best hotels in Cervinia

1. Bergman Mountain Hotel

Address: Via Giomein 53, 11028 Breuil-Cervinia

Best for: Hot tub suites

Bergman Hotel Bedroom

Bergman Mountain Hotel is a four star property, dramatically set among Alpine meadows and with a mountainous backdrop.

It offers ski storage and pass sales, a spa, a guest gym and a bar for apres-ski drinks. I love that you can also ski directly to the front door.

Bergman Luxury Hotel Cervinia

The hotel offers a range of twin and double rooms, plus more spacious suites with sofa beds. If you really want to spoil yourselves, I’d recommend going for a hot tub suite.

Otherwise, you can soak away your cares at one of the spa’s hot tubs, and there’s also a sauna and a hammam there.

Accommodation is without exception slick and modern, and some rooms offer breathtaking views over the mountain peaks.

2. La Cresta Chalet

Address: Via Giomein 51, 11021 Breuil-Cervinia

Best for: A modern chalet

Despite the name, this is one of the best Cervinia hotels, rather than being a private let.

La Cresta occupies an elevated position above the resort, and I love that this Italian property resembles a contemporary take on the Swiss chalet.

La Cresta Wellness

Natural wood with a fresh, modern grey hue is featured throughout the interior, including in the guest rooms and suites.

There is also a large chalet with 11 bedrooms which can sleep up to 22 adults in style, plus a range of two and three bedroom suites. Some have spa baths, a balcony or mountain views.

The hotel also has a spa, gym and bar, and serves breakfast daily.

3. Les Neiges d’Antan

Address: Fraz Cret 10, 11021 Breuil-Cervinia

Best for: Solo travellers

Les Neiges d’Antan Hotel Cervinia

Free transfers to the Cervinia and Valtourneche ski lifts, ski pass sales and easy access to the summer hiking trails are all offered to guests staying at Les Neiges d’Antan.

The hotel also offers a sizable spa with a sauna (this is where you’ll find me!), a lounge with fireplace, an outdoor hot tub and a restaurant and bar.

This is the best of the hotels in Cervinia for solo travellers, as a range of single rooms are available. You can also book doubles, family rooms and suites.

Natural wood is again a feature of the decor, alongside features such as glass washbasins, richly coloured or patterned fabrics and crisp white linens.

4. Valtur Cervinia Cristallo Ski Resort

Address: Via Piolet, 11021 Breuil-Cervinia

Best for: Families

Valtur Cervinia Cristallo Ski Resort

This five star hotel in the Breuil-Cervinia area is a personal favourite of mine. It’s ideal for families, as a kids’ club is offered here.

For adults, there are impressive facilities including a gym, a bar and restaurant, tennis courts and a 24-hour reception. Valtur Cervinia Cristallo Ski Resort also boasts an indoor swimming pool.

Room types range from standard to deluxe doubles, plus junior and larger suites. Many have a single or sofa bed as well as a generously-sized double.

Accommodation and shared spaces are styled along contemporary lines, with pops of colour and texture adding character.

There is also a four star annex for those who may not have the budget for the full five star experience.

This is a great way to get access to the five star facilities of the main hotel but at a lower price. As long as you’re not as fussed about the rooms being a little more basic.

5. Hermitage Hotel & Spa

Address: Via Piolet 1, 11021 Breuil-Cervinia

Best for: Apres-ski

Hermitage Hotel Cervinia

Hermitage Hotel and Spa offers Cervinia accommodation for both winter sports fans and summer hikers.

This Relais & Châteaux property is perched more than 6,700 feet above sea level, and provides a guest shuttle to the ski lifts.

Hermitage Hotel & Spa Cervinia

Every room here has the benefit of a private balcony with spectacular mountain views, which I think is such an important touch.

While staying here you can indulge in La Prairie facials and body treatments, swim in the indoor pool, or dine at the on-site restaurant serving local Aosta Valley cuisine.

The bar is also highly rated for apres-ski socialising.  For VIP benefits like free room upgrades and late check-outs, book via ASMALLWORLD.

6. Saint Hubertus Resort

Address: Via Piolet 5, 11021 Breuil-Cervinia

Best for: Fairytale views

When illuminated each evening, I love that Saint Hubertus resort resembles something from a fairytale or a Christmas decoration.

It’s a picture perfect Alpine property with Matterhorn views, and offers free transfers to the village as well as the ski lifts. Ski storage and passes are available too.

Saint Hubertus Pool Cervinia

Marble bathrooms, deluxe mattresses, stone fireplaces and suites from 50 square metres to two bedrooms are what to expect at Saint Hubertus.

The finest have views of the majestic mountains, and the largest have private terraces or balconies.

This resort also offers a covered pool, a gym, a 24-hour concierge service, and kitchens in all accommodation.

This newly overhauled property now has modern, comfortable accommodation in an idyllic Alpine setting.

Hotel Bucaneve can be found at the heart of the resort, and offers exceptional service, a piano bar and a restaurant. There’s also a sumptuous spa and an indoor pool, which I think is always needed after a day on the slopes!

Accommodation options include superior and deluxe rooms and junior suites. All come with spa access, and this has a sauna for soothing aching post-ski muscles.

You can also book a range of beauty and massage treatments here.

8. Hotel Excelsior Planet

Address: Piazzale Planet 1, 11021 Breuil-Cervinia

Best for: Italian cuisine

Hotel Excelsior Planet is conveniently located within the centre of the resort. This four star hotel is under 200 metres from the Breuil-Plan Maison cable car.

One or two bedroom suites can be booked here as well as rooms for couples. All rooms come with balconies, and some have a lounge area. I’d recommend opting for a room with mountain views.

The hotel has a wellness zone with a Turkish bath, a sauna and a heated indoor pool, plus a beauty area where treatments can be booked.

While the hotel restaurant serves local cuisine and Italian fare in addition to international favourites.

The White Angel Hotel has a spacious bar and restaurant on site, plus a gym, a sunny terrace, a heated pool and ski storage.

Decor is modern and neutral, with natural wood adding warmth to both private accommodation and public areas.

If it’s something different to Cervinia ski hotels you seek, I’d really recommend family-run Red Fox Lodge which offers a range of studios, plus one or two bedroom apartments.

It’s a centrally located complex where each room has a balcony overlooking the resort and the stunning mountainous backdrop.

Red Fox Lodge Balcony Views
