Best beach clubs in Mykonos

1. Scorpios

Paraga, Mikonos 846 00

With an enviable beachfront position, Scorpios is a multi-purpose venue for dining, drinking, socialising and entertainment. By day, you can rent a cabana at this Mykonos beach club. While at night the place comes alive with people mingling over dinner and cocktails.

Watching the sunset with a drink in hand is de rigueur, as the skies over the southern tip of the island change from the brightest blue to purple, pink and orange.

The fact that that beach club has an open plan restaurant plus a sandy beach means it’s easy to spend the entire day and evening here.

Good to know: If you want to avoid the pricey sunbed and cabana options, visit Scorpios for the Sunset Beach ritual from 17:00-19:00. Here there is a more reasonable minimum spend and you will have an unforgettable evening. Just make sure you book in advance.

2. Hippie Fish

Agios Ioannis, Mikonos 846 00

Hippie Fish Beach Club

Hippie Fish was first established as a restaurant during the 1960s. It now stands out as one of the finest Mykonos beach clubs found on this Greek island.

It’s been revamped multiple times since its inception. Today it is characterised by lots of natural wood, lines of ceiling thatching and a laid-back vibe.

Fresh seafood has been a key feature of the menu here for decades. You can dine undercover or on some of the comfortable seating right down on the sand. Some of the signature dishes to try at Hippie Fish include lobster spaghetti, shrimp and saffron risotto and the rib-eye steak.

Good to know: Check out the ‘Greek Nights’ at Hippie Fish, as they offer fun entertainment alongside your meal.

Alemagou Beach Club

Alemagou is not only one of the best beach clubs in Mykonos: it’s also seen as a destination in its own right. This is a venue for all day lounging, dining and mingling. It is as much for those who want to dance the night away as anyone who wants to fully unwind in a serene seaside setting.

It’s incredibly pretty: thatched parasols ensure shade over every perfectly aligned pair of sunloungers. Whether by day, by night or by both, sink your toes into the soft, golden sands here and you’ll feel you’ve finally reached utopia.

4. Jackie’O Beach Club

JackieO Beach Club
JackieO Beach Club Mykonos

JackieO’ Beach Club is a favourite with the LGBTQ crowd – and indeed anyone who appreciates a colourful cocktail, platter of food or drag show. The setting is Super Paradise Bay, an outlandishly photogenic spot with a curvaceous pool, palm trees and ocean views.

Where to sip that cocktail might be the only challenge you come across during a long, decadent day or evening spent here. Will it be in the jacuzzi, on the beach or by the pool?

Should you tire of those, a boutique and a regular programme of dazzling shows await.

5. SantAnna

Paraga Beach, Platis Gialos, Mikonos 846 00

SantAnna Beach Club
SantAnna Mykonos

Situated in the centre of a perfect crescent, SantAnna can be found at Paraga beach on the treasured Greek island of Mykonos. To keep you fed, watered and entertained there’s a bar, a pool complex, DJs, and a restaurant. There’s also the immaculate sweep of light golden sand.

Food-wise there’s plenty of choice. Go Japanese with a freshly-prepped serving of sushi or Italian with a plateful of delicious pasta. Or keep things simple – and local – by opting for a Greek mezze selection to share.

6. Kalua Mykonos Paraga

Paraga Beach, Mikonos 846 00

Sunset from Kalua Beach Club in Mykonos

Competing with SantAnna for your custom is Kalua bar, restaurant and beach club. Japanese and Mediterranean fusion is on the menu here, as well as sophisticated cocktails and the slickest beats.

Perch for a while on a cosy, fringed cube or a snug, cushion-strewn sofa as the DJ lulls you into a state of pure relaxation. Once you’re ready for action, Kalua is also the place to party as resident singer Emmanouela serenades a lively audience. Or a skilled DJ takes to the decks once more.

Good to know: Kalua embodies quite a raucous party atmosphere in the evening. So if you prefer something a little more chilled, head to nearby Scorpios for the sunset ritual instead.

7. Super Paradise Beach Club

Super Paradise Beach, Mikonos 846 00

Super Paradise Mykonos

Sometimes the name says it all and that’s precisely the case right here at Super Paradise Beach Club.

This place is the one for water sports fans. Here you can go stand-up paddle boarding, water skiing or wakeboarding while others shriek with joy while riding one of the jet skis.

If that’s not enough, Super Paradise also offers a luxury Mykonos hotel, a fine dining restaurant and the chance to be part of the best summer parties on the island. Plus one of the most idyllic settings on earth, of course.

Best bars in Mykonos

1. The Garden

Chora Mykonos, Mikonos 846 00

The Garden Bar Mykonos

The Garden of Mykonos sounds equally paradisiacal, and the reality will reflect your expectations completely. In fact the venue is also firmly entrenched in island lore. It was once the home of Yehudi Menuhin, a famous and fabulous American violinist widely regarded as one of the finest of all time.

The views from this very special spot are incredible and can be yours during sunset as well as way beyond. Settle down for the evening with a cocktail to sip while making the kind of memories that could well last a lifetime.

2. Alley Cocktail Bar

Mitropoleos, Mikonos 846 00

Alley Bar Mykonos

Run-of-the-mill drinks are the last thing you can expect at Alley. This place beats many other Mykonos bars hands-down. Not least because the aromatic infusions, magical elixirs and lip-smacking syrups are made here on site.

Alley has been pleasing the palates of residents and visitors for over a decade now. They use local spices and herbs, as well as exotic ingredients from far-flung locations.

You can taste the world in a glass here, while the light, bright aqua blue and white exterior leaves you in no doubt about where on earth you are.

3. Galleraki Cocktail Bar

Milpń Bevetia, Mikonos 846 00

Galleraki Mykonos

The Little Venice area is home to Galleraki, which proudly claims to be one of the best bars in Mykonos. In fact it’s cited by the travel press as one of the most atmospheric and influential on the entire planet.

If you do go, don’t miss the signature Katerinaki cocktail.

So what’s all the fuss about? Well the location, perched right by the warm waters of the Aegean, is the first factor to assault your senses. Add to that the carefully curated playlists, nutritious and delicious juices and a cocktail list to die for, and you have the recipe for the perfect all-day Greek bar.

4. 54 Cocktail Lounge & Skybar

Manto Square Mykonos Town, Mikonos 846 00

Skybar at Townhouse Mykonos

Situated in the heart of lively Mykonos Town is 54 Cocktail Lounge and Skybar. It’s set inside the exclusive Townhouse Hotel, and is the place to see the sun sink beneath the horizon as each day draws to a close.

The bar thrums with an eclectic collection of beats, covering pop, dance and disco tracks from several decades. Unparalleled views, a hip vibe and an Old Town location all conspire to make this place unmissable.

5. Katerina’s Bar

Ag. Anargiron 8, Mikonos 864 00

Katerina’s Bar is also in Little Venice and has been established in this location since the dawn of the 1990s. The restaurant here specialises in fresh seafood, and there’s a glorious outdoor terrace for outdoor dining.

It’s very much a local affair: the name comes from owner Katerinas Xidaki, and the place is adorned with wooden sculptures created by her son Konstantinos Varnalis. Before the transformation, the building served as the family home.

6. Negrita Mykonos

Múkovoç 846 00

Negrita Bar Mykonos

If watching the sunset while sipping a generously proportioned drink sounds good to you, then Negrita is surely the pick of Mykonos’ best beach bars. Though the drinks list is thoroughly contemporary, the venue itself and the views are classically Greek.

Should the champagne and cocktails not be enough, sampling a shisha pipe as the waves roll is an optional extra during your visit to Negrita.

You may recognise this bar from social media, as it is often touted as one of the most Instagrammable bars in Mykonos.

7. Lola Mykonos

Zanni Pitaraki 4, Mikonos 846 00

Lola tends to attract a LGBTQ and mixed clientele. Its success is all down to owner Dimitri, who extends the warmest of welcomes to each and every guest. Delicious, top quality cocktails also help to ensure you have an incredible night.

The decor at Lola receives a lot of praise, and the button-back seating, pink lighting and glass shelving do indeed create a cosy, boho vibe. If you want to live like a West End star for the night, Lola is the place to make those dreams seem oh-so real.

8. Bao’s Cocktail Bar Mykonos

Lamprou Katsoni 1, Mikonos 846 00

BAOS Bar in Mykonos

Come 6pm every day, Bao’s in Little Venice is the place to be. The venue is right on the waterfront, and it’s recommended to get here early if you want to bag a table on the beachfront terrace.

Inside the place looks and feels just like an elegant, upmarket Greek home, with exposed whitewashed stone walls, plush seating and hanging lanterns. There’s history here too – the bar was named after George Bao, a local hero who defended the island during the 18th century.

9. Scarpa

Mikonos, Greece

Scarpa Mykonos

Scarpa is able to announce its address simply as ‘Mykonos, Greece’ due to the fact that its reputation precedes it. The bar is firmly embedded in local culture, having existed here for over four decades.

You can start the day here with a yummy breakfast washed down with fresh juice. Or head to the bar in the afternoon to get ready for sunset. The party then continues until dawn, when the sunrise heralds the start of another idyllic day.

10. 180 Degrees Sunset Bar

Múkovoç 846 00

180 Sunset Bar Mykonos

What does the name of 180 Degrees Sunset conjure up? If the answer includes panoramic ocean views, spectacular sunsets and an appealing selection of food and drinks, then you’d be spot-on.

This is a venue that also draws a music-loving crowd, as it’s a central part of the island’s festival and live music scene. The menu, meanwhile, is traditionally Greek, showcasing the finest produce from the region to magnificent effect.

11. Skandinavian Bar & Disco

Georgouli, Mikonos 846 00

Skandinavian Bar Mykonos

A typically Greek whitewashed exterior with doors and window frames picked out in sky blue may seem an incongruous setting for a bar and nightclub. But that’s exactly what awaits at Skandinavian Bar and Disco.

Two levels, three bars and an open air courtyard set the scene for this disco and bar that first opened here in 1978. Since then, it’s grown from a small local bar to one of the top party venues on Mykonos. For good times that last all night long, there’s no more exciting place to head for after sunset.

12. JackieO’ Town

Múkovoç 846 00

JackieO Town Bar

Such is the success of the JackieO’ Beach Club that the brand has grown to include this town bar. A dramatic, all-white interior with echoes of Antoni Gaudi’s artistic style creates a laid-back ambience for your evening.

Or grab one of the outdoor tables to watch the sunset. Whether you’re enjoying the summer evening outdoors or are holed-up within, the tempting cocktail list and nightly drag shows ensure there’s no need to wander anywhere else.

13. Caprice of Mykonos

Múkovoç 846 00

Positioned below the landmark Windmills of Mykonos, opposite Little Venice and by the warm Aegean waters, Caprice is a firm favourite with those who come to admire the sunset or sample a fabulous new cocktail.

Though it’s a place to party until late, it’s best to show up as early as possible if you want to secure the best seat. Whether you’re craving a romantic evening or a sophisticated party vibe, Caprice can deliver from dusk until dawn.
