Summer Wish List

Summer Wish List

Summer is well and truly in full swing. Unusually for England, we’ve already had a good helping of hot sunny days and we’ve still got a way to go until we start unpacking the autumn wardrobe. With a holiday booked for the end of August I am naturally using this as an almighty excuse to indulge in a spot (a lot) of summer shopping.

I’ve spent a lot of time browsing and lusting after these items so I thought it was only fair that I share them with you. Here goes – introducing my summer wish list!

ASOS Floppy Straw Hat

I am a sucker for a good hat. Knitted delights with furry bobbles in the winter and giant floppy straw hats for the summer. Although I already own one of these straw hats I’ve decided to treat myself to a new one. Because why not.

ASOS Summer Hat

For a while I’ve been looking for a hat with beautiful detail, whether it’s embroidered writing or a pretty ribbon. No surprise that ASOS has come up with the goods! I absolutely love this straw hat with a giant gingham bow. Utterly cute and super pretty. Look out for an Insta post when it finally arrives!

eLCy GiGi Crop

Keeping with the gingham theme (because who doesn’t love gingham) is a gorgeous gingham crop top. If you haven’t heard of eLCy, you really need to know about them. Most known for their gorgeous handmade lingerie, they also sell the odd bikini and beach top.

I absolutely adore this GiGi Crop by eLCy. It’s lightweight, flattering and versatile. You can style it up with shorts, jeans or a skirt for a day out or you could dress down with a bikini and wear to the beach.

St Tropez Self Tan Express

My one gripe with summer is the persistent need to sport a glowing tan. If I were being polite about myself, I’d say I was a classic English Rose in appearance. If I were being a bit more honest, I’d say I was a pasty, sickly-looking human being. Whichever way you look at it my body is averse to tanning.

St Tropez Express Self Tan

I do tan but it takes hours, and I mean hours of sunbathing. The trouble is that I hate sunbathing. I’m literally useless, I can’t lie still, I hate the heat: I am a hot weather moaner through and through.  So thank the lord for fake tan!

Fake tan is a complicated business and we’ve all had bad experiences. The patchy legs, the orange hands, the biscuit smell, the starfish sleeping. Well girls (and boys), I have a solution for you. I am very excited to share with you my new favourite tanning product: St Tropez’s Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse.

We all know that St Tropez provide beautiful tanning products but what’s so special about this one? Well, you slap it on and unlike most tans where you need to sleep in it overnight – you merely leave this one on for between 1-3 hours depending on how deep you like your tan. Wash it off et voila! Watch your body turn into a golden brown delight over the next day or so.

I highly recommend. You can thank me later.

Boux Avenue Cuba Triangle Bikini

My summer wish list would not be complete without a bikini. As you may know from a recent interiors post, I have a bit of an obsession with all things green right now. If it’s got a jungle pattern then even better!

So I’m pretty delighted to have found a bikini that meets these specifications. Introducing this gorgeous Cuba Triangle Bikini from Boux Avenue. You know what’s even better? It’s in the sale! You have no excuse now.

There are loads more products I could share but I know you don’t have all day. Look out for a part two and let me know about your summer wish list items in the meantime.

Happy summer holidaying!
