Breakfast at The Shard

Breakfast at The Shard

You can’t beat a hearty meal with a view so when it was suggested that we go for breakfast at the Shard for my Uncle’s birthday, I was delighted. Aqua Shard is on level 31 of the Shard, so only about half way up but still managing to boast stunning views across London.

We were super lucky that the weather held out, as many a time I’ve flown past London Bridge on the train to see the top part of the Shard engulfed in clouds.

I opted for an Earl Grey tea (always) and a tasty fresh orange juice to start with.

Breakfast Dream

Followed by the calorie-free *ahem* option of the full English breakfast. It was delicious and totally worth the calories. I particularly liked the combination of ricotta cheese with mushroom and spinach to go with the usual components of a full English – a super tasty twist.

Mum opted for the slightly healthier vegetarian option which still looked egg-cellent (sorry). Although a bit too healthy for my liking!

To finish, the lovely staff presented my Uncle with this little treat of a dessert. Who said you can’t have pudding at 11 in the morning? I didn’t taste it but I think you’ll agree that it looks mouth-wateringly good.

We took one final look at the views before descending back down to earth on the impressively speedy lifts.

Aqua Shard

I’d recommend breakfast at Aqua Shard for birthdays and one-off treats, or for business meetings if you’re trying to impress. It’s expensive for what it is but then you’re paying for the incredible views – and trust me they are worth it…as long as it’s not too cloudy!

Have you ever had breakfast at The Shard? Or any other meal? As always, I love to hear from you!

Definitely go! It’s quite expensive but we got a groupon deal so wasn’t too bad. As thank you chick 🙂 x
